Haynesville Shale

Where is the Haynesville Shale located?

The Haynesville Shale is part of a rock formation that encompasses large areas within southwestern Arkansas, northwestern Louisiana and east Texas. The natural gas industry has known about the presence of this vast deposit for many years, although it's extraction has not been economically feasible until just recently, in light of rising natural gas prices and technological advancements in hydraulic fracking which is a process used to release natural gas from the shale, as well as progress made in horizontal drilling practices.

Pursuing Oil and Gas Lease Opportunities in the Texas Haynesville Shale

Much of the natural gas found in the Haynesville Shale is located between 10,000 and 13,000 feet beneath the surface. Estimates hold that this portion of the rock formation may yield anywhere from 60 trillion to 250 trillion cubic feet of vital natural gas, which would make this the deepest natural gas resource in the continental United States. With oil and gas companies actively working to build relationships with landowners for mineral rights to their land, there is never a greater need for a Texas oil and gas law attorney who can help to guide you through the lease negotiation process and make sure you are getting the attention and service you deserve.

The Amaro Law Firm has worked for 22 years to provide landowners and commercial drilling corporations with high-quality legal support and representation in the execution of successful oil and gas leases, gas pipeline leases and surface use agreements.
